Old Glory Re-Signs Scrumhalf Danny Thomas

Old Glory will be bringing back English-born scrumhalf Danny Thomas for the 2022 season. The 27-year-old was a new signing last year, a replacement for exiting scrumhalf Micheal Reid. In the offseason, he played for Premier Rugby Sevens team The Experts.

Thomas was the de facto number two scrumhalf on the team for most of the year, appearing 14 times a backup on the bench. However, because he was behind one of the most talented players on the roster in Danny Tusitala, he didn’t see the field too often. Thomas had just 84 minutes of match time across 9 matches.

Thomas performed reasonably in in his limited time, though. He kept the ball moving quickly and facilitated fast play, even getting a try against Toronto. He didn’t have any mind-blowing stats, but he did what he was asked to do. If he sees more time in 2022, maybe he’ll have more of a chance to show us what he’s capable of.
