Local Hooker Mo Katz Re-Signed for 2022

Timothy “Mo” Katz will be returning for 2022. The 27-year-old JMU graduate has played frequently for the Capital and Old Glory Selects. While he is listed as a hooker, his only professional minutes have come at number eight.

Another player who goes back to the exhibition season, Mo Katz has seen a limited role on the team in the MLR. After being injured for the shortened 2020 season, he only saw only two appearances in 2021 for a total of six minutes of match time. As the fourth choice hooker on the team, there hasn’t been a lot of space for him in the front row.

Still, he showed a good degree of athleticism and eagerness in the time he got. Given the time he got in the back row last season, we may see him developed into an eightman instead of continuing as a hooker. Especially with Old Glory continuing to bring in new talent at hooker, like Rob Irimescu, it may be the only way he sees the field.
