MLR Suspends Play for 30 Days

Major League Rugby announced yesterday that the league will be suspending play for 30 days as they assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are far from the only league to do so, with just about all sports organizations, both professional and amateur, having done the same. You can read the MLR’s statement on this matter, and also this update from Old Glory for more information.

At this time, the MLR has made clear that the season has not been cancelled completely, merely postponed. Hopefully, the situation will have calmed enough in a month to allow the resumption of play, but obviously the health and safety of players, fans, and everyone else involved comes first. It is also possible that play will be suspended for even longer.

In the meantime, there will be plenty of time to catch up on all of the MLR you missed on the MLR youtube channel. I will continue to post articles on this site, probably with a focus on stats and analysis of the team so far.

Stay safe everyone, follow the official guidance from the WHO and your local health agencies, and for goodness sake wash your hands.
