Fan Favorite Danny Tusitala Re-Signed for Next Season

Old Glory has announced the re-signing of scrumhalf Danny Tusitala. The 30-year-old Samoan international has be the stalwart starting scrumhalf for OGDC since they joined the MLR in 2020. He is a popular player amongst the fans and considered one of the best scrumhalves in the league. Keeping him in DC is a big win for the coaching staff.

Tusitala has been an absolute star for Old Glory. He has started every single match, playing a total of 1,228 minutes in total during the season. At scrumhalf, he was the clear and obvious selection, playing 92% of the available minutes in the position. No other position was a dominated by a single player in 2021.

With that kind of time on the pitch, Tusitala obviously racked up some nice-looking statistics. However, more important that the numbers is the energy he brings to the team. Old Glory is known for their fast attacking play, and he is a key element in creating that. He drives the pace, getting the ball out quickly to the back line. He has also played the role of field marshall, making sure everyone is where they need to be.

It wasn’t Tusitala alone that created OGDC’s dynamic attack, though. He had a great partnership with flyhalf Jason Robertson, who has since left the team. Now, Tusitala will have to start again with new signing Rohan Saifoloi. If those two can click like Tusitala did with Robertson, there will be great thigns in store for this team.

Tusitala is the best scrumhalf a Major League Rugby team could ask for, and it will be great to cheer for him again in 2022.
