Star fullback Dylan Taikato-Simpson (DTS) is officially returning to DC for the remainder of the 2021 season. After playing every minute of the 2020 season, DTS initially opted not to play in 2021 so that he could spend time with his new child. However, the coaches have found a way to bring him back early.
This is a big boost for the back line. With Robertson back from injury, Kolinisau and Morani covering for Fraser and Hearn, and now DTS coming in at fullback, the team finally has a full complement of experienced backs. This couldn’t come at a better time, either, with LA looming this weekend.
It’s a little disappointing to see Mike Dabulas, who was electric in Old Glory’s win last weekend, go to the bench. However, it’s not as if he won’t see game time, especially as player need rest later in the season. For now, it’s probably good that the rookies don’t have to shoulder as much responsibility.
Welcome back, DTS!
