Old Glory DC has announced the signing of veteran Australian center Jordan Jackson-Hope. The 29-year-old is coming directly from the NOLA Gold after that team collapsed during the off-season.
His success in rugby started early, making age grade sides while in school. He then joined the Canberra Vikings when he left school, impressing enough in one year to earn a contract with the Brumbies in Super Rugby while still a teenager.
He played for the Brumbies for four seasons, earning 17 caps in that time. For the 2019-20 season he joined the Sunwolves, Japan's entry in Super Rugby, but only played in one match for them before the Pandemic hit.
After playing for Eastern Suburbs in Australia's Shute Shield competition through lockdown, he signed with NOLA Gold in 2023. He quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with, playing for 1,952 minutes and 8 tries scored in 25 matches across his first two seasons. He was due to return to the team in 2025, but injury prevent him from taking the field.
He is an experienced and proven player in MLR, making him an excellent addition to the team. However, given the limits on foreign player slots, he will likely be competing with Jason Emery for a spot in the lineup.
